Monday and Tuesday: 1pm-8pm
Wednesday to Saturday: 8am-2:30pm
André MacNair is a graduate from Wellington College of Remedial Massage Therapy. He graduated and started practicing in 2013. Since graduation, he has taken advanced courses in:
– Advanced Exercise Physiology
– Rehabilitation of the Injured Athlete
– Pre/Post Sports Massage
– Onsite Injury Management
– Soft Tissue Release Technique
These advanced courses will lead in the goal of receiving a Sports Massage Therapy Certification. He is a member of the Massage Therapy Association of Manitoba. André is also very interested in helping people whom suffer from TMJ pain and help patients seek proper care when an issue.
Andre believes it is important that initial steps first begin with range of motion and orthopaedic assessments to determine links towards possible causes and to identify appropriate treatments. These treatments are focused on muscular imbalances using relevant techniques. Therefore, initial treatments generally involve having a consultation about the specific complaint(s), a physical assessment, followed by the treatment (approximately 20-30minutes).
André is now studying at the Canadian College of Osteopathy. He began the 5 year program in August 2015. He was first intrigued by the program when taking advanced courses in Myofascial Integration and Cranial Technique. As well, he was inspired by his professors’ knowledge bases. One important osteopathic principle is that the body is a functional unit, which, with proper knowledge, a practitioner can retrace the cause of injury or pain. Once the cause has been found, the practitioner can then advise patients to seek proper care or seek aid in their recovery through specific identified treatment.
André is excited about his continued work and his studies in Massage Therapy and at the Canadian College of Osteopathy. Please bring shorts, sports bra, tank top for the assessments.
