What is Hypnotherapy? Hypnotherapy utilizes the principle of hypnosis, which allows the subconscious mind to express itself. Hypnosis is a natural trance state of mind that occurs to us multiple times during the day. For example, when you read a book and are so comfortable, you realize you remember nothing of what you just read. You place your eyes skimming the words, but the details that fill the pages aren’t there. Or when you’re driving home from work, you’ve driven right past your house! Those states in our minds are parallel with that of hypnosis. Hypnotherapy has been used in many forms, including pain management, losing weight, childbirth, coping with trauma and grief, finding inner peace, personal growth, overcoming phobias, accelerated healing, smoking cessation, and many other applications.
